Newbies get bashed as an extension of bashing instructors and agencies because they are the end result of the poor training and lax standards. Not so much any individual newbie, but newbies as a generic group because they didn't have to swim the Mississippi or walk 5 miles in the snow (barefoot) to pick up their c-cards.

I was trying to, until I saw this post. Now I am just confused. I'm trying to avoid jumping to the conclusion that Ghostdiver started a thread with the express purpose of bashing tech divers. If so, I am overwhelimingly impressed by how rude and childish that is. I am hoping that I am misinterpreting his post. Hopefully he will clarify...

I may have been willing to clarify what I was saying but the bashing (from Tech Divers) started before I was even asked. This proves my point that Tech Divers think they're better than everyone else and bash people without having their facts straight.

Yes, so I'm an OW Instructor who also happens to do as much tech diving (if you want to call it that) as tech divers do. What exactly is tech diving?

1. Using mixed gases such as Nitrox Trimix or beyond? - Done That
2. Diving deeper than 130 feet? - Done That
3. Wreck penetration? - Done That
4. Staged decompression diving? - Done That
5. Helmet Diving? - Admittedly haven't done that - but use FFM
6. Any one of the above?
7. All of the above?
8. None of the above?

What is the point of the bashing? Even if you misenterpreted my post... which you have... it certainly doesn't represent bashing...

It was a set of Dobles 112s. Photo was taken in a deco stop, a wall dive in parguera PR. 200fsw. Prety cool. The new one is with the yellow turtle, mona island PR.
