LP does have the bag I like for a good price. I can give you a tickle stick. Don't buy one unless you really, really feel the need to waste money:D

Hey scott, which bag do you think is the best? well, in that which one at LP do you like since they do seem to have really good prices and im just getting started.

thanks for all the help

but this: http://s1059kxm.leisurepro.com/webapp/commerce/command/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=2383&prmenbr=946 is the one I use. No need to worry about finding the clasp....undoing the clasp with one hand... putting the bug in the bag....redoing the clasp...(remember what I said about a finite amount of time and air?) and then hoping the clasp doesn't come undone. Just squeeze, drop the bug in and release. Every year another one of my buddies replaces their bag with one like mine. Hmmm....:D Maybe I should see if I can buy them in bulk;) IF you plan on doing scallop diving, these bags are not great since the substantial weight will cause the bag to open a bit. It's easy to "fix" but turns it right back into a "normal" catch bag. Jusy my opinion.

also check eBay...

I got one of these for ~$8 a while back (used, but who gives a ****?)......just be patient

I'd love to join up with you guys this season (and learn too)....although I think an out-of-stater can't get a MA license?

is that true?

btw, a local boat charter who runs out of Norwalk says there are still bugs in CT, although he has to dive deeper for them (and at night...legal in CT)

That's a great deal! No, only MA residents can lobster dive but you're welcome to come along and watch:)

Hello everyone
New kid on the block. The name is Steve and I've diving about three years. Only have ow cert. Love to eat all seafood. The only shore dives i've done were for certification. (brother-in-law has a nice boat) Best treasure ive found is an old milk bottle with a mussle shell in it to big get out. sorry about all the off topic stuff now for some potential help about the lobster permit. A non-res can get a lic if they own $5,000 worth of property in mass. See the link for more info and app forms.

this is also good for renewing your lic
See you in the water steve
ps Specal hello to decapoddiver

I bought a fiberglass tickle stick ($11.99 at dive shops), and snapped it in a rock crevice few months later. I saved the wrist loop from it, and duct taped it to a 3' aluminum dowel. Bend the dowel end slightly, and it is just as good.

That's just what I do too.

I was asking around some of the lobster pros here in my area and I was told that CT and MA has an agreement so residents of each state can buy the others lob. lic. They said that MA-CT have an agreement but RI is a stand alone. Is this a 'used to be true but no longer' thing? I am searching for the answer but I can't find it. Anyone else know?

Only way to get MA license is to be a resident or own property in MA. That's according to Marine Fisheries.
