Divers Against Bungied Wings OF Death

Dabwod...Can I get a franchise for the northeast? (As far as trying them ,I never tried heroine and I know its bad.) I understand the Smithsonian may be looking for bungied wings or maybe if you put them inside a drysuit nobody would notice.Or....:puke: :waaaa: :toilet:

Finally got a reply from OMS. Have to purchase replacement tubing from local OMS dealer. Don't know why I thought they might just send me a set. :( Anyway, other than that, I'm very satisfied with OMS. Used to own Ranger that I really liked also. It just depends on diving double or single setup. Personally like the bungee wing. Don't know what all the "wing of death" crap is about. Really enjoy the auto deflate function. I dive dry almost exclusive. Pretty much only use BC for positive bouyancy on surface. :D

So you are using the drysuit as a buoyancy compensator and the buoyancy compensator as a surface floatation device?

Have you ever tried just using minimal gas in the drysuit and using the buoyancy compensation device (wing) to compensate for tank gas used?

OMS' bungeed wings. They cite runaway deflation (which no one has seemed to have experienced), snag potential (with only one instance, and apparently that person was able to negotiate the situation), trauma to the lungs from manual inflation (yet another uncorroborated theory) and the fact that George Irvine III does not like them.

Those that actually use them frequently, cite the absence of the runaway inflation scenario, no snags, no lung trauma, ease of deflation no matter what your attitude, a redundant bladder, and NO AIR SHIFT. Oh yeah, most of us don't seem to give a flying flip what George Irvine III thinks. Of course that we could care less about ol' GI III and that we disagree with those that refer to them as wings of death immediately marks us as "anti-DIR". As far as I can tell, all of the detractors of the bungeed wing on this board are DIR. Is there anyone who is a detractor and NOT DIR who would be willing to correct me on this? Oh yeah, and even though they refer to them as "wings of death" they have as yet to produce one fatality. Although some would like to see me become the first, I am sure. Also, most (not all) have never even tried the OMS bungeed wing. Most that have really seem to like them.
