I have used an Olympus UFL-1 (I think that is what is is called) external U/W flash with my SeaLife DC-250 camera (really a Vivtar) 2mp camera with success. As I understand it, this is a "mimic" flash in that it is supposed to be fast enough to mimic the pre-flashes and exposure flash of most digital cameras. I have moved to a different camera/flash system and gave the Olympus flash to my daughter for use with her Vivitar 6200W (really a SeaLife Eccoshot/mini-reffmaster in yellow drag). It won't work! All the pictures are black as if the expernal fash can't synchronize with the deflected on camera flash. I have even tried hooking up a fiber optic cable with no success. Put it back on the DC-250 and it works fine with or without the fiber optic cable.
