This is not my petition, Ojamo has been closed to the general public for a couple years now (the backstory why is complicated politics). In any case the Finnish Diving Association is trying to take over the lease and operate the site.

Lets update this thread with the good news!

Diving operations will start in Ojamo in July 2024
Ojamo Minedivers association has made an agreement with the city of Lohja to organize technical/recreational diving activities at the pond. Likewise, the association has made the necessary agreements with Luksia and Meriturva.
All divers are welcome to join the association. The membership fee for 2024 is 70 euros, and with this fee you can participate in the activity as much as your schedule allows. Of course, Ojamo has a wonderful mine diving environment and there are kilometers of mine corridors, but the open water area also enables diving for those who don't want to go inside the rock. In the open water area, the depth is 35 m, and especially in autumn or early winter, the visibility is excellent. The open water area is also perfect for freediving.
All diving takes place according to the diver's own classifications and training. An introduction to the area and a set up dive into the mine will be organized for first-timers. Diving events are organized by the named event organizers whose contact information can be found on the web site. You can register for diving events with your own membership ID or if you can't find a suitable event, you can contact the event organizers and ask them to organize an event.
Welcome! Have a nice dive!
