Searching on FB brought up a photo of his 2020 Tec 40 CCR class on a Prism.Any other news on this? Looks like he dove a Hollis Prism2.
Boatloads of rumors, but that’s the way it always goes.
Nothing at this point. Funeral is Saturday. Autopsy was done Monday. I expect we won’t hear anything ever. Not looking to spread rumors as wasn’t there. But do dive the Great Lakes frequently on a CCR. So would be nice to get any relevant info if something could be learned or prevent something in the future. If not, as sometimes accidents happen outside of anybody’s control, a simple “nothing new to learn here” would be helpful.
"Cullinan signaled to the other divers that he was in distress and kept taking his mouthpiece out," Cook said. "The others went over to help him and one diver offered his mouthpiece — but by then Cullinan was unconscious. So, they brought him to the surface."
One possibility based on updated news report might be a caustic cocktail event. Very sad if it was one, as not much can be done underwater if severe enough.
Not familiar with the Hollis Prisim2 so don’t know how flood tolerant it is. Very sad if it was a caustic cocktail…..
It was not a training dive.Heard second hand that it may have been a training dive…..possibly CCR normoxic trimix. Not that it has anything to do with the accident. But sounds like he was in good hands with other experienced divers nearby. Which makes it so strange…..
