zuzanne:Plan to dive the Stav in mid October in Barbados along with some other reef/wreck dives. Will our lycra skins be enough protection or should we take the 3MM wetsuits also?

zuzanne:Hi Kathy, we are going to be staying at The Bougainvillea Beach Resort in the Maxwell Coast area. It was an TS exchange thru RCI. We have never been to Barbados before so we're really excited about diving there. I heard that the Stav is a great dive if there current isn't ripping so I hope we get a calm day to do it. A TUGGER should be just back from there. I posted on the TUG Caribbean Board to see how she liked it. I don't think she dives but would be able to give us a review of the resort & the Island overall. Here is the web site for the resort it looks beautiful. www.bougainvillearesort.com
If you go to the Scuba Board Home Page, click on gallery then arrow down to wrecks then in the search field type in Stav, it will bring up a couple of photos that someone took of the winch and mast. very cool photos.

Hi, I put about a half dozen dives on the Stav in May of last year and a 3mm full suit was good. There were a large amount of jelly fish so be sure to cover up. The Stav is great and Carlisle bay is full of shallow wrecks. However when I was there I was disapionted in the vis (2-5m). Hope it's better for you. Enjoy the spicy fish sandwiches near the beach!zuzanne:Plan to dive the Stav in mid October in Barbados along with some other reef/wreck dives.
