ok, after lots of reading of all the info on suunto Vyper here and other places. I think I have narrowed it down to the Vyper or the Oceanic versa pro.

I came across this review and was a little concerned about the comments about the decompression type dives.

review of versa pro

Page seven of this states: The decompression model used by an Oceanic dive computer is based on the no-decompression multi-level repetitive dive schedules successfully tested by Dr Ray Rogers and Dr Michael Powell. These tests did not include dives deeper than 90 feet (27m) or decompression (stop) dives

I only saw a few comments about the Versa pro here. Does anyone have experience diving with decompression stop with this computer.

as for me, most of my diving has not been at this level, so I am leaning towards the vyper.

any comments would be aprreciated

I have been using a Versa Pro for about 50 dives now. Most all have been deco dives. I just read the review you posted. I dive with buddies that use suunto's (vyper, mosquito, and vytec).
As for the first dive of the day it gives me Deco times similar to the Suuntos. Sometimes slightly shorter but not enough to worry about. However like the repetitive dive mentioned in the review my repetitive dives are very much different. It is not unusual to have no deco time with the Versa Pro and have 15 minutes with the Suuntos. I have been following the advice of my computer and haven't got bent YET. Maybe the Suuntos are too conservitive, or maybe the Versa Pro is too liberal. I can't answer that for you. All I can do is tell you what my experience has been.

Hope this helps.
