Deleted. Dumb post. Don't know what I was thinking...

hmmm...I just got the VEO 100, haven't used it yet but from what I've read from all of you, unless you are diving NX all computers are basically expensive depth gauges. but seeing as how I have less than 10 dives, I am very interested in what you have to say.
No your Veo100 and my Veo200 will track air dives, dive time, nitrogen loading, ascent rates the same I suppose - yours without dates, audibles, downloading or simulation dives. Still a good diving tool; just watch it, work it carefully. Even tho it suggests 3 minute SS, you can do longer and I like to always leave the water in the green zone.

I'm confused about what some are saying about the lack of dates on the Veo 100; when you go into Log mode, Dive # (for that activation period), Time of Day (that the dive started), and date of the dive are displayed.

But I agree the logbook function could be a lot better; it is confusing the first time you use it (or was for me). The rest of the functions are pretty inuitive, but the log was/is a little weird.

Best wishes

I thot maybe I'd messed up again, but this is where I got that...

That is weird Don.... did they remove the set date feature on the 100nX (the Veo100 for sure has the function).

Pretty goofy if they did! I wonder if that chart is just a typo? But I think someone earlier in the thread mentioned the 100nx did not have a date function...

Again, we've been happy with our Veo 100 and Aeris XR1, but they are air-only, no-frills, and the only reason we bought them is because we knew nitrox was not a factor.

Best wishes.

I don't know. You other guys that have the Veo100: can you set date?

Haha have you read your manual?

I just checked my VEO 100NX. It does not record the date. But for the price I paid I don't care I have a calender.

Thanks Mopar,

Mystery solved.

But man, that is strange. I just double-checked our Veo 100 manual (to make sure I wasn't having a major "senior moment") and it does record date...

I use the Aeris XR1, the wife uses the Veo 100 (they are clones, with just slight cosmetic display differences). But the log display is the same for both.

Anyway, why on earth would Oceanic omit/remove that function I wonder? I'd always assumed that they simply added O2 capability to the Veo 100..... :dontknow:

Best wishes.

Edit: Sorry about that Don, you were indeed correct.

Very good question. I am wandering the same thing myself. Why would the VEO 100 have it and the VEO 100NX does not?

For me, the issue isn't about knowing what the date is but distinguishing between two dive #1s in the logbook.
