I have the Oceanic Veo NX and it is a very easy to use computer. Info is easy to see and get to. Have used it for 50 dives so far and really like it. Only down side you cannot D/L to a computer.

Not downloadable is unfortunate. I just recently started downloading and discovered a mistake my bud and I were both making in diving our computers. Not dangerous, but not as safe as I like. Corrected our diving based on the downloaded info.I have the Oceanic Veo NX and it is a very easy to use computer. Info is easy to see and get to. Have used it for 50 dives so far and really like it. can get a Veo NX 180 for a little over 200.....
I dive air only and have a Veo 100, works great.
I gave the links to Oceanic computers and Scubatoys prices above. ST only charges $50 for the cable if you bought the computer from them as I recall.I've bought a VEO 180NX last year at special price in Diver-supply below $200 because it's already discontinued.
There is very few that the 180NX can do over the 100NX but dive profile download capability. However, for that you need the download cable which costs another $ 90

I guess the Oceanic stockholders like to see a profit off of the download programs, and it's only fair to pass those costs along to the customers who get the cables. Whatever - just shopping for best buys.ONLY charges $50 for a cable. This is what bugs me about most computers. $50 for a cable is rubbish! Is it pure gold core?
Yeah yeah, compared to the "conservative models" that penalize a diver by allowing less than commonly accepted dive times. Hey if 10% less is safer, go for 25%, or just snorkel. :silly:Then there is the whole thing about the oceanic algorithm... that's a whole 'nother thread!
I don't dive Nx all of the time, but when it's beneficial to the plan, sure - great tool. At those times I prefer all Nx divers on the boat if possible - sweet! I think every diver should plan on the likelihood of using it in time. The Veo 100 will be the most expensive computer you ever buy IF you take a nitrox class in the next year or two. If you NEVER go to Nitrox it is a fine computer.

Oceanic's algorithm is quite safe in recreation scuba or the lawyers would own the company by now.
