I will never buy and Oceanic product again. They did such a bad job with this product and were so unhelpful about getting it repaired.
Same here. I've bought a new Oceanic VEO180NX PDC some years ago. It worked fine during a lot of dives, but the display started to go dimmer and dimmer that made almost imposible to read. It was not a battery problem. I wrote to Oceanic asking how to increase contrast, as the computer was working ok. As answer they replied that it was time to change the computer.

I'm facing the same thing..... I originally purchased the Pro Plus 4 and went through three of them indicating my depth at 3' when I was at the surface. All three sent in under warranty and they finally sent me a Pro Plus X as the last replacement. It's now two years later and on a multi-week trip to Coz it's displaying "Error Altitude" flashing red and then shutting down. Back to the old Suunto Zoop. NOTE: Always bring a back up computer and dive it on long trips.

I do dive with 2 computers - all dives. If my true love, my Shearwater Peregrine dies I can switch to my Aqualung i330 and it will know what my cumulative gas load is. Everyone should dive with 2 computers.
