I have an Oceanic ProPlus X with 106 dives on it. After charging it up for my last trip it displayed a red screen that said, "Error Calibration". I decided to see what it would do on a dive and it worked except it told me I was at 15 ft when I was at 32 so that's the calibration error. I wrote to Oceanic and they said they'd look at it for $30 and if it needed service that would be $260 (they credit the $30). I have no interest in ever using this computer again (bought an SPG and a Sheeawater Peregrin) but I honestly don't know what to do. I could get it serviced and sell it or it would be an expensive door stop. What would you do?

followup question - does anyone know how to get the reset codes for this device? It's so maddening that the only soultion is to send it in and then see if I have to drop over $200 to have it fixed but right now it's just a dumb doorstop so I want to do something.

Mine went wacko like that and I paid the $200+ to have it recalibrated. Was advised to carry it in cabin to keep that from happening again. About 10 dives and 1 trip later it went total blackout. I can’t get it to do anything. Was only 1 dive into the trip. Next morning it wouldn’t wake up. Put it on usb charge overnight and still nothing.

Small number of dives, still not under warrany?

I only dive a few times a year. I sent it in about a year after it died on the way to Bonaire. I went back to Bonaire in July and did about 10 dives with no problem. Just got back yesterday from a trip on which it worked the first dive but then went dark. I need to look at the exact dates and contact them but i expect they will say too bad, so sad since it has been about a year.

Computer warranty is 2 years.

Just checked the dates and it was recalibrated in December 2022. It was out of warranty then. I just sent an inquiry but don’t think they restart the warranty for a recalibration. Last summer i had trouble getting it to take a firmware update also. This PPX is not worth the hassle and is unreliable at best. I still keep my first wrist computer from 2005 on my BC as a Back-up. I think might just put an SPG on my reg and use the old wrist computer. I may need to put a bifocal lens in my mask to read it though.

serviced unit is only warrantied for 1 year - they just emailed me to confirm. I wanted to trace it for a serviced PP 4 but they said no.

I will never buy and Oceanic product again. They did such a bad job with this product and were so unhelpful about getting it repaired.

Nope - I bought it before the pandemic so it was more than 2 years old when it broke. I still haven't decided what to do with it. I hate electronic junk :-(

I'm facing the same thing..... I originally purchased the Pro Plus 4 and went through three of them indicating my depth at 3' when I was at the surface. All three sent in under warranty and they finally sent me a Pro Plus X as the last replacement. It's now two years later and on a multi-week trip to Coz it's displaying "Error Altitude" flashing red and then shutting down. Back to the old Suunto Zoop. NOTE: Always bring a back up computer and dive it on long trips.
