Oceanic GT3 Sport

Just found an ad for a really good deal on the oceanic GT3 "sport" regulator.....thinking of buying it for someone as a gift for first time reg....can't find any reviews yet.

It's advertised on Divers Supply.

Anyone got an opinion or comments??

If it comes with the cdx5 1st stage,you'll have a great reg.
will serve you for many years.

If it comes with the unbalanced piston,it still is a great warm water reg.
IMO you should see to get the cdx5

Not sure what the "sport" means... looks like the same second stage with a different first stage than the regular combo. My first stage is the CDX5 and I like my GT3 so much I purchased the GT3 octo as well.

The sport comes with a unbalanced 1st stage(the SP-5). It is a great reg but it has an open environmental chamber and is a piston reg. You can all so get it with a cdx5 which is a very nive set up. It is balanced and has a seal chamber. Lots less dirt and crap can get into it. That price they are advertising is not a good price. My shop sells it for 245.00

On a note in reference to the question as to what first stage it has, it is the unbalanced sport piston first stage. This first stage has more than enough performance for any sport diver, doing sport dives in the recreational envelope. Feel free to PM me or call me directly with further questions.

I have been diving with the GT3 W/ SP5 1st stage. works well . I have many dive in water temps in the 45* 48* temps work with out any problems . breaths real easy at 121' all the way up the the surface . I like it
