Does Oceanic only offers computers with imperial ratings? I need the metric system :D

Do you guys trust the transmitter, or do you always use a analog pressure gauge as a back-up?

I'm not a fan of transmitters cus they need batts and are another thing that can fail, loose connection, get busted from getting knocked about.

Lots of guys use it but I rather trust a $55 dollar brass SPG.

As for metric, I don't have a answer but I'm sure someone here would.

You could also consider the Uwatec tec 2g or the aladin 2g

We have VT3 computers and they can be set for either Imperial or Metric. Yes, we trust the transmitters in ours, they've been very reliable.

Im am looking at the Oceanic OC1. According to Scubastore, you can set the units of measurement. So that answered my own question.

Im not sure I would feel comfortable relying on the transmitter, though :shakehead:

I have the Pro Plus 2 A/I--yes they allow either measuring system....have used it for several years on numeous dives and I am well pleased with Ocenaic.

Yes, I trust the computer, but things do break, and one of my Oceanic transmitters did so in April. I always have analog pressure gauge on reg, with it clipped to my rig. My trust is re-enforced by occasionally comparing the two.
The new Miflex HP hoses make it very innocuous.
Good to also carry second computer, or at least depth gauge in case primary fails. Don't know where you dive, but for me it's a looong way from dive location to dive shop.
Oh, all Oceanics let you set imperial or metric. You may find manual from Oceanic site, or just start another thread.

The Oceanic OC1 can operate in both Imperial and Metric systems.
We have designed an Online Class for the OC1.

The new OC1-LE comes with a free online class. See cool video: Unboxing the OC1-LE.

I use a VT3, w/ analog SPG as primary. Lower cost, higher dependability.

I had been using Oceanic comps before and yes they allow you to switch between Imperial and Metric, but its an overall, you cannot say you want your air in PSI while depth in M for example (you can on the Uemis :))

My last Oceanic had the wireless transmitter and while I did trust it and never had any issues I still dive with a small brass spg.
