You're not in deco, you know your gas and if things go haywire (as said, increasingly unlikely) you're ending the dive so I personally don't see any risk at all for recreational diving.
Likewise for technical diving. If it fails, you end the dive, knowing you have enough to get to the next gas. If the SPG on the stage fails, no biggie, you know you have planned ample deco gas for the planned deco, and your team also has extra deco gas resources for you in case of lost deco gas.
 
Sounds like a whole lot of confusion and hassle. Glad I don't have that kind of money. LOL
i agree. you need to track you nitrogen exposure one time not 3. i don't see the point to have an extra computer for the pony. a small button spg will do. You will use the pony in case of emergency not to monitor your nitrogen exposure. You had complexity and failure point to your set up.
