so here goes ,has anyone dove lake perris in riverside county.Is there anything to do beside the pipes I've heard about.can anyone give me specifics on how to find them and last but not least hows the vis.Im thinking about trying it to practice navigation

I can't say I dove there, I have heard from others that the bottom is pretty mucky and you need to watch out for brown (diaper) trout. From what I remember they have a diving area. You can check it out here.

I also have never dove there either. I am certain someone will come on line with a glowing report of diving there often. The few people I know who did go there to dive once, said on their day there it was feeling you way around in the murk for a whole bunch of nothing much to see.
 
water vis was 20' or so, big surprise there.boats traffic wasnt a problem i ended my dive because of all the shore fishermen,i went in at the swim beach when i ended my 1st dive there was 8-10 people with there rods in a no fishing area right at my location.beautiful day good vis
 
I dove there ONCE. That was more than enough. The sound of boats zipping overhead is disconcerting, the vis was a marginal 15 foot, and there is not much in the way of aquatic life.

Drive the extra 45 minutes and dive in the ocean.
