I am trying to set up my first set of doubles and I am having some issues with hose routing. On the left post it seems like no matter how I configure the hoses, one ends up making a bend that I consider too sharp. I am using Hollis dc-3 first stages. In the picture you can see about the best I have been able to get. The hose for the 2nd stage and has to make the 90 degree. I swapped out the rubber hose I had on there for a braided hose to make it a little better, but it still seems too sharp a bend for me, especially if I fully inflate the wing. Suggestions?

On a second note, I was so frustrated trying to get the hose routing worked out where I was happy, that my wife has just about agreed to allowing me to purchase a new set of regs for my doubles. If you were buying a set for doubles today, what would you get and why?

Hopefully you still have your rubber hoses.

I use a 360 degree swivel on my left post(Apeks DS4). But would that be DIR compatible?

Its close to that, but with the wing fully inflated, it puts a lot of pressure on the hose. May be due to the fact that I am putting them on double 80's and they have a bit of a shorter neck.

swivel won't be DIR compatible depending on who's DIR you are follwing

That is as good as it gets for those types of first stages btw. Best hose routing you will get is with swivel first stages and a bottom port. Best bang for the buck right now are the Dive Rite XT's. Cave Adventurers usually has the best pricing on them if you call and talk to them.

The bottom port allows your secondary and inflator hose to go straight across, and the swivel allows the drysuit inflator and primary hose to sit where it really wants to and minimizes the kinking when sharing air single file.
Looks like this on AL80's

Looks OK to me overall. My old hoses bent much sharper than that. Look for older pics of xtx regs hose routing to see what I mean. If the back up reg hose bends too sharply you can try swapping it out for one a little longer.

Reverse the R post hoses if you're using a circular wing.
