I had same problem was more bend then i liked. Put on 90 degree swivel adapters. They are expensive but clean every thing up nicely.

I use MK-17's & first stage swivels - it then gets very compact....

FWIW - we (collectively as a team and a number of others we dive with) also do not do the "cross". LPI is on left, dry suit is on right....

YMMV.

I would not go that way. With the way I route, everything primary is coming off the right tank, i.e. primary reg. and primary LPI. Usually, if a problem happens will be from the primary side. Simply shut down the right side and go to all backups, i.e. backup reg, dry suit or backup wing. It really takes a lot of guessing out of the equation.

Michael, does the first stages ever get in the way of shutting down the tank valves? Not the best picture but it appears that you run your primary reg and LPI off the right post and backup reg and DS off the left. Is that true?

Tony, the Apeks DST or Hog D1 in this case can cause interference with valve manipulation. Part of why I sold mine. You have a couple options which are to angle the valves down a bit more which is what I did, or you can change the hose routing a little bit. The new Hog D3's, have the din screw much higher on the regulator body more similar to the Scubapro MK25's, and those are a lot better for this.

That said, they are not compatible with my Jetstreams, so I haven't switched, though I have contemplated going to the BP1's from Hog which are pistons

Mine never have to any significant degree. When I have my thick undies on for cold water diving, sometimes I might bump my hand on the first stage on the way to grabbing the valve handle, but that's more about restricted mobility in the shoulders with a heavy undergarment than anything else.

As far as routing goes, yes, my LPI is off my right post along with my primary and drysuit off the left. I use my drysuit primarily for buoyancy in cold water so the air flow is split between the two 1st stages, lessening the likelihood of a freeze-up.
