Zeagle express tech is one-size fits all, I am 6'4" 240lbs and i know people half my size using them.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I'm over 3'2"/120 lbs (actually 5'5"), and I found that the Express Tech, at 16", would be too tall for me (torso-wise). That said, I HAVE dived an Express Tech that fit me. That's because the vintage double-hose folks have found a way to modify them to fit their special requirements* and that happens to make them fit someone with a shorter torso, too. It does require sewing/cutting/modification, although it's not particularly difficult from what I could see.

*The double-hose divers want to get the regulator down "low" toward their shoulder blades, so they had modified the Express Tech to move the waist band up, in effect making the top of the Express Tech "lower" and thus allowing it to fit me properly for a modern regulator.

PS: That's not to say an Express Tech might not fit a shorter person as-made, but just that it's not a given; it can depend on torso length relative to height.

halocline: I got confused on that too (there is more discussion in the thread I linked to in post #55 of this thread). But it seems that now both cerich ("Mr. HOG") and Jim have confirmed that the new HOG item is a spin-on adapter. I guess my confusion was due to a variety of terminology or my misinterpretation.

By the way, just to update this (again!), cerich ("Mr. HOG") has just posted in one of the HOG/yoke specific threads to clarify this. Apparently he mis-typed and he DID mean that he is going to bring out "native" "internal" (or whatever the appropriate term is) conversion kits for the HOG regs. Here is a quote from that thread:

there will be, i should have typed without the spin on adapter. i will bring in the yoke, yoke retainer, yoke filter and filter retainer and yoke nut as a kit for people to pull the entire DIN fitting out and replace with a YOKE assembly.

Now it makes sense because bringing out a "new" spin-on adapter didn't really seem right, since they've been easily available all along.

Hog D1 set Vs Mares prestige 12s
Hog ~ 450.00 Internet
Prestige ~ 440.00 LDS

Or wait for a sale ?

I like the idea of cheaper service.
I like the idea of been in business for a long time (proven track record)
I want something that I will not outgrow and will last me many many years, Maybe even to the end of my diving career.

I really thought I would see some good sales around xmas time. But if they are out there I am not seeing them. I would like to have all gear by March, Next time I am heading to the keys.

For the complete set. first and 2 seconds plus hoses?

Hmm maybe I will have to play the waiting game

No.
This was for 1st and 2nd stage only.

An Epic set (1st stage, two 2nd's and hoses) is about $400 no sale price.

I have not yet found out what the true difference is between the edge and hog design. Besides that currently the hog is only DIN.
The above price included
1- D1 Coldwater First Stage
2- D1 Second Stages
1- 7ft LP hose for the primary
1- 22" LP hose for the secondary
1- Din to Yoke convertor
1- Gate Snap (bolt snap)
1- DIN Cap

So it is about 50.00 more then the epic set, Does not come with the reg bag, and the second on the hog is adjustble.

Doing this on Internet is hard........

Not much difference.
I know the owner and sellers want to keep away from the whole copy/clone thing but for me the more they are like each other and the original the better.
In my previous posts in this thread I was trying to point out the similarities but they were much happier to point out the differences.
I still stand by my original assessment here:
http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/regulators/314289-hog-2nd-stage-arrived.html

I have several sets that I use for myself and students and am very happy.
There are some improvements to the original Apeks regs that I like.

Well I think it may just be about finding the right price on the Hog's, unless some other special sale catches my eye.

I am still wrestling with the whole BC thing. So a few more comments and questions.
1) very important. How easy is it to get into a BP/W while in the water? Since I have yet to see one/ or try one on first hand, it is kind of hard to imagine how you put it on. if I clip it on like a BCD then OK if I have to step into it and then tighter straps, that could be hard floating around in the water.

2) I really do not want to wear a weight belt. That was is my number one complaint with the diving I have done so far. I just find it very very uncomfortable. So where do I put the ditchable weight? Is there flexible wieghts something that would mold itself to you, I.E. sand like?

So far my wife does like the idea of a BCD, she like's the idea of feeling secure in a jacket. However the jacket that she likes so far (Mares Hybred) is pricey and that combined with the slight more that we are spending on the Regs, makes things higher that I wanted to budget. I do not see her really out growing it.

We are not looking for travel, so I wonder if she would like a cheaper mares that looked similar from the pics would be good for her... Pegasus.
