My DH and I want to get our Nitrox certifications. PADI requires 2 dives for EAN certification, whereas SSI requires no dives. I've heard many people comment that the required PADI dives are worthless since learning Nitrox is about the classwork, not the dives.
The appeal of no required dives is mostly about the cost of the certification (SSI is about 1/2), but I don't want to short change us on training. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
