Nitek Duo blinking

Hi DiveRite,

My Duo was blinking after the last dives I did. The low battery indicator wasn't lit and it stopped after hitting the reset. The diving was well within NDLs and safe ascent rates. After I get to the store this week I'll replace the battery but also wanted to check with you guys to see if you knew what could be causing this.

It is a low battery,

The Duo will start acting funny due to a low battery well before it displays a low battery indicator.
It will start to give ascent rate warnings and display depth changes such as flickering from 9ft. to 20ft.
All of this is due to low battery. It uses a CR2032 battery.

Looks like a battery change may be in store for me also. I figured, being an instructor, it may have been from having my hands in & out of the water a lot to demonstrate skills & to communicate with the students. Thanks for the info.

Yep, my Nitek Duo was wacky towards the end of its battery's life... blinking, tell me I was going from 0 to 20 ft when I was pretty stationary on a line.

The one thing about my Nitek Duo that has me stumped is that three times it has switched my gas mixture from regular air to 100% oxygen and told me I died on all three dives! Of course I dive with a redundant computer and the other one suggested I was still alive... I chose to believe it.

Bill, my working assumption has been that you're alive. No lone even partly dead makes that many references to the ladies...
