Nikon D80/70s vs Canon EOS 350 D/400

D80 Jason... no doubt about it, as Spoon listed all the great qualities....

If you can afford it, get the better unit and wait for the housing...

If you don't want to wait and want the housing now.. D70 is easier to use than 350 due to two command dials which makes the switching of shutter and fstops much easier...
 
My mean concerns spend wisely; I need save some money for my second purchase rebreather unit...
What is your opinion? Nikon 70 and 70s is different units which want are advantages and disadvantages

What you thing 70s and D80....?

get the d80. you wont be sorry, only issue with the d70s is the small screen other than that it was more than plenty. if you get the d80 the casings will be a awhile before they are available

D80 - HKD5900 body only. Actually quite cheap.
As for the Canon.. who cares.. :)

PS I just spent equivalent amount on a 105 VR lens... urgh

Nikon D80 body HKD5900 is cheap....lens buy separately...what is your recommend.

what type of photos do you want to take? wide angle scenic? 10.5mm
general purpose fish and macro? 60mm

macro macro? 105mm

Wide angle with a little zoom to play with? 12-24mm or 17-55mm
 
for under water setup...fish eyes, macro and wide angle lens.
