Night snorkeling in Cozumel?

In short no. Unless, you're free diving down or doing close up photography I would be surprised if you get pics you are happy with.

Regarding the stingray pen, the entrance just south of it is recently quite clear of urchins. I wouldn't recommend it for a first time snorkeler but if you mind your step it's an easy entry spot.

The folks at blue Angel are really nice too though, I've not tried it but they might welcome you to pass through to access the ocean.

Not what I wanted to hear, but the answer that I needed. I have a handheld 1,000 lumen and suppose that i'll pick up another light & tray. Would 1,500 lumens work?

I did a night dive with someone who was using the makospeargun's tray and two 680 lumen lights. He sure made my old Princeton Tech Shockwave 400 look like a nightlight. Here's a video from their website using their tray and 2 680 lights. It's not perfect but I was impressed. You may be okay, but not have professional results.
