Oh good luck. Both Chrpai and Jonnythan [I believe] asked OMS and their answer was things like "Let me know why you want to know first"; or something to that effect.

First let me say that I think the merits of a donut wing are overblown, as I have pointed out in the past no double tank wings are donuts and somehow these are routinely used.

However, I can say with some certainty that single tank OMS wing in the photos on this thread is not a Donut, but is in fact a "horseshoe"

How can I tell? Donut wings are made two ways:

RF welded single shell type, i.e. no inner bladder with the exterior edges covered with sewn tape. This OMS wing is clearly not this type.

Conventional style construction, i.e. sewn shell with an inner urethane bladder. Donuts made this way require a 360 degree zipper to allow the bladder to be installed. You can see in the photo that the zipper runs from about "10 o'clock" to about "2 o'clock" across the top of the wing. This means there is no way to install a donut bladder.

Tobin
