i just used this on a trip and it was freaking awesome. the big wheels actually do a fairly decent job in sand. it has a hard bottom so no folding in half and turning into a dragger.

I have not had to check it yet, but it is technically too big. If you don’t pack it too tightly it should squeeze into a sizer for Domestic flights on larger jets and Embraer regional jets. I would be nervous about long haul European and Asian routes where carry on limits are less generous.
