Hi all,
Someone clued me in on this site last night and I thought I would check it out! I'm a certified diver but haven't been in years. I'm waiting for the weather to warm up then I'm gonna take the refresher course and start diving again! Since my partner is now pregers I may be looking for new people to dive with in the near future!

And I thought you meant CAnada! The weather is certainly warm enough right now, although the visibility is still poor and the water a tad bit cool. Welcome to Scuba Board, Rita.

Dr. Bill,

I'm scheduled to go out on The Great Escape (Long Beach based dive boat) to dive the "frontside" of Catalina on Feb. 13th.

Any predictions what the conditions will be like?

ScubaBoard is a great way to meet dive buddies and get advice on trips!

Thanks!
Eric J.

Welcome. If you have not yet done so, drop down to the club section (but we are not really a club) an check out California Kelp Divers So CAL section to get hooked into the local divers discussing diving pecular to our local area or to hook up with a dive partner.

Now about the water. Winter is the best diving due to better visibility. True the water is cooler, but right now we are at 58-59 degrees. Summer time is only 60-65 with the reare 70 at the surface and 65-68 at depth. So what are you waiting for, go diving.

Now about partners. SoCal section is a great place to hook up with someone to go diving. So too is http://www.sandeaters.org. They too are not a club. Just a website with a dive scheduled for every Sunday. they also have an e-mail list you can join and wh;en you wnat to go diving send out a shout to the list, or receive one. Someone will usally say, yes, lets go.

I am often available to go diving too.
