Seven hearty souls (in our group) dove Back Beach on New Year's morning. Some of us even dove wet :eyebrow:. 35*F air and 45*F water. Vis was horrible, maybe 5-6'. The only wildlife I saw was one snail! Got one dive under my belt for the year so far anyway.

You Ma guys have Cahones. I was thinking about going in the water a week ago - but wussed off by not being able to "find" my dry gloves. Happy New Year.

There were 2-3 dozen people in the water at FTW Jamestown NY day. I wasn't one of them I've got a cold. The vis I'm told was less than 1 foot, temp 42F air temp 35F with a strong brezze. Glad I didn't dive. There was a heated tent to change in for some but not all, most dove wet.

I also dove Back Beach in Rockport on New Years. I wouldn't say the viz was horrible but it wasn't great. a very murky 10' but that's all speculative. The recent storms with wind have kicked up lots of crap which is a bummer because I've been looking forward to good winter visibility.

Lots of nudibranchs but other than that was very little fish or lobsters.

I'll probably be out somewhere this weekend; I'm hoping the visibility improves.
