Just got back from two weeks in Roatan, (stayed at Las Rochas, West End Beach). The wreck you are referring to was a joint effort of Anthony's Key and several other establishments in creating a new dive site. We understand it took 6 months to clean the ship out, (fuel bunkers and bilge and any other contaminents). When sunk it went down "straight as a die", and is resting upright on a sandy bottom.
Its a busy dive site especially with divers from Anthony's Key (starting at 8:00 a.m.), but the ship is large enough to accommodate a lot of "dive traffic". Since its a new wreck (2 months) there is very little marine growth and the big fish haven't set up home yet!
The visibility around the wreck was approx. 40 ft. when we dove it (still the rainy season).
Note: As a general warning,if you are beach walking from West End Beach to West End there is an armed bandito (knife) preying on unsuspecting tourists. Hopefully he has been caught by now (he hit 3 times during the 2 weeks...including our dive master).
