There are now two new airplane wrecks at Twin Lakes in Manvel Texas, just south of Houston.

The larger of the two wrecks is a 10-12 passenger plane which can be be penetrated. It is located on the west bank pointing east starting in 20 feet of water.

The smaller of the two is a 4 passenger plane north of the training platforms in 40 feet of water.

Both of these wrecks were repositioned from the north shore through the efforts of Dive Zone Scuba instructors, divemasters and certified divers over a three weekend period in April.

Hi, Im new to the area and have considered diving twin lakes, any idea what the current conditions are? Water temp and vis?
Thanks,
Andres

Water temp is in the mid 60's(30'-50') to high 60's(surface to platform at 22'). Viz is roughly 10'-12'. Plane is just northeast of the last platform on the North end of the lake.

The airstream which has a marker(large red ball) is holding some nice size bass. It's off the first dock as you make the turn to go down the dirt road to the other dive docks which is northwest of the plane.

Hope that helps.

The bass have already started to take up occupancy in the plane. The next item on the agenda is to remove the rest of the foam floatation.
