What's up guys & girls,

New to the forum and forums in general. Are there any dive clubs in the Boston area still currently diving, wetsuit that is?

I just recently purchased all my gear and have the itch. No drysuit though, not enough $$$$$ at the moment. I have a 6-5-4 Sequest. I'm about to give it a try, I grew up on the north shore and should try to toughen up I guess.

Thanks,

Matt

Hey Matt,

There are a few dive clubs around the area. You might check out the New England Aquarium Dive Club at< neadc.org>,. There are still folks going out diving. The meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm at the Aquarium. One member that attends the meeting is picked for a dive in the Giant Ocean Tank at the Aquarium. That is probably the best dive in town!

Mike....

Welcome to the board!

I'm not sure how close to the Boston area you are looking for but up on the North Shore the North Shore Frogmen dive year round. Most of the people diving this time of year dive dry but there are some folks in the club that dive wet year round. Check us out at northshorefrogmen.com

Thanks Lewis,

I'm from Swampscott so the North Shore Frogmen are close (Beverly, right?). I'm definately going to look into joining, I joined a dive club from Undersea Divers, but they dive from I think, May - October.

Do you work on the tugs from Boston? The ones that bring those massive boats down the Chelsea River? Man, I don't know how they do it, I give you guys a lot of credit.

We meet in Beverly on Thursday nights at the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club and dive every Sunday.

I actually work in Philly on tugs but it still amaizes me at some of the places we've squezed into.
