Hi!

I am new to Mass and want to get into diving here. A shop I called told me about this site and about NELD and I wanted to write in and see if anyone had any advice about joining clubs, boat charters, equipment, etc. in the MASS area. I am a divemaster and obviously LOOOOOVE to dive - I am missing it - haven't gone in over 6 months and going a bit crazy!!!

Any info would be great help. Thanks. Maureen

Welcome to the SB and NELD:

This is the best place to find info on local dive sites, charters, conditions, trip reports and for finding dive buddies. Your LDS was right to recommend it.

I noticed you're living in Weymouth. Cape Ann is great, but don't forget the South Shore and Boston Harbor areas. There are some great dive sites/wrecks to explore down here as well.

Again, welcome and dive safe and have some fun.

Welcome Maureen. You should be able to find answers to most of your questions about local diving here, and if not feel free to ask!

I'm nearby in Quincy, so let me know if you want to get in a local dive sometime.

Welcome! We can never have too many divers around here! :D

Cape Ann is a great place to dive in your neck of the woods.

And don't forget us down here in Rhode Island. Lots of great shore diving in Jamestown, Narragansett and Newport. Tons of great wrecks like the U-853. Plus our water is much warmer in the summer than on the north side of the Cape! We even get a few tropical fish in August.

Welcome to SB and MA Mferris5! Might want to look into purchasing a MA non commercial lobster license. Tons of fun!
