Hello from Boca Raton, FL.

I've been diving since 1987 and have over 600 dives in my dive log. I did a good share of those dives in South Florida but have gone diving in multiple other places including Hawaii. I haven't been diving for maybe 8 years but am getting back into it now. I label this post "New Member - Old Diver" because I am very old at 77 yrs old.

Anyway, I've been reading a lot of stuff stuff on this board mostly about equipment which I am purchasing. I decided to join and get into the discussion.

Hi Al, welcome to scubaboard.
What gear were you using before you stopped and do you still have it?
Yes I have most of it and it's basically working. I bought all new gear. I am waiting until I'm approved for the Classifieds section and will list it. Are you looking to buy some gear?

No, I already have plenty of stuff bordering on gear hoarding, but thank you so much for the offer anyway. I was just wondering what you already had, because a lot of times older gear is just as good or better than the new stuff. Basic gear hasn’t fundamentally changed in 40 years or more and a lot of older gear can be serviced and brought right back to spec.
We have a great DIY community here and a vintage community. That’s one of the things I love about this place ❤️
But you already bought new stuff so the point is moot.

So, what gear do already have?
I guess it doesn’t hurt to ask, right? A little window shopping.
Any old scubapro or Aqualung all metal 1085 second stages (push on T model)??

I don't know what happened to my post here! When I pressed Post, it disappeared.

I'll reconstruct it later but the essence is I don't have any old ScubaPro or Aqualung gear. I have lots of misc. stuff like fins and masks but a couple of good things are an Oceanic DataMax dive computer and a Mares 16" pneumatic spear gun. I replaced the computer since I wanted an integrated compass and for the spear gun something a bit smaller.
