Hi,

Just moved to SC from PA. Was doing lots of diving till winter came. Can't wait to get back in the water. Any suggestions on where to dive. How's Lake Murray? I just got a house on the lake. Don't have lots of time right now so I need somewhere close by to dive. Any suggestions would be great.

Howdy!

Welcome to SB!!
:happywave Put us in your computer's favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue:

I know that there's great diving off of NC, and I've heard that SC shores have their own delights...?

don

BTW - it would really help if you'd fill out your Profile - so we can respect your training and experiences, or be courteous if you're a newbie?!

:D

Where exactly in SC are you? I lived in Greenville for several years and we did a lot of diving in Lake Jocassee and Kowiee. Not much there to see but we always had fun. We also took a few trips to the "Redneck Riviera" AKA Myrtle Beach. The diving there is good but you have to go one heck of a long way off shore to find any deep water. If I remember right the boat ride was something like 4 hours just to get to 80 feet. There were some nice Civil War wrecks that still had a few souvenirs left to discover but the boat ride was just crazy.

Hi,
We live in Prosperity on Lake Murray. Just moved here a few months ago and didn't have much time to dive yet. I'm gonna go jump in the lake soon, haven't been diving since it got cold in PA (October). Didn't do much diving in the ocean, except Mass. mostly done in quarries, just got certified last year but really love it. Now that we live in a warmer area, should be able to go more often. Were do you live now? Still in SC?

Ft. Lauderdale Florida. I couldn't take the cold weather and fresh water there any more so I moved down here. ;)

I'm not sure exactly where Prosperity or Lake Murray are but if you're any where near Greenville just ask people where Lake Jocassee is and that's where everyone goes from up state. On the last weekend of the month you might find several hundred people there, most doing there checkout dives, from all over the state.
