Got a Go recently. Took it for the first extended beach dive earlier this week. Went with two other divers that were on Genesis 3.1’s. The Go at full speed, what it calls gear 10, kept up with the genesis at 60% throttle. We dove for about 80 minutes and about 50 minutes in after running it predominantly at top speed the Go throttled back to 50% speed as it had reached 30% battery life.

Other than the unit turning off when I ingested a branch of a soft coral (resolved with resetting the unit by turning it off and on) the unit ran flawlessly.

The size and weight factor is a huge plus. True to marketing, there is absolutely no torque on the unit, you can easily drive it with a single hand, and it pulls like a champ.

How much juice did it have at the end of the dive? 30%, or was that after 50 minutes?
 
Got back to shore with 30%. So after it throttled down to 50%, ran it for about 15-20 minutes to get back to shore without another battery bar turning off.
What sort of speeds in the water are we talking about with the Go at gear 10, and the 50% throttle mode with low battery? I.e are either of them enough to make your reg purge? Or are those stories I hear only related to the higher end models?

I've used my seacraft go for about a dozen dives now.

It is a pleasure to use. Compact. Simple. Easily stows away to my side like a stage tank. Simple to balance.

A fully charged battery lasts me approximately three hours on medium to medium high speed in some bursts of moderate current.
You could post in here, or a separate topic. Either way, I think there are a lot of us wanting to know as much as possible about this awesome looking DPV, from people who are using it real world. I saw some on a dive recently, but they were waiting for the rest of the group to enter the water, so they weren't really scootering anywhere, hence couldn't see it in action

I almost never use the GO's max speed since I can't enjoy the reef moving too fast. Although it does not purge the reg, it does make the hoses wobble. Battery drains *fast* at max speed, I use it in bursts to catch up with buddies, or sometimes when we meet dolphins, they do like to play at high speeds.

Most of the time, I use speed 6 (out of 9) to cover long distances (in my case, up to 500-600 meters) to get to the dive site, then to enjoy the views at verying speeds between 1-4.. At wrecks, often park them outside.

Don't know the exact speed, but it was keeping up with the Genesis at 60% throttle. Regulators were not purging, but don't turn your face sideways to the foward motion, your mask will be ripped off.

We were intentionally running the DPVs pretty hard. Yamaha pool toys, Blacktips and finning would not have been able to keep up 🤷‍♂️ 😉

Thanks for the info. What sort of runtime are you getting from use on speed 6? Curious about the noise level also - I can't seem to find my YT video examples

Haha yes the pool toys definitely cannot keep up. I have a Lefeet P1 at the moment and can say for sure they are not comparable to even the slowest full size DPV. Hence wanting to upgrade to allow much more coverage on a single 1h dive.

I was under the impression the Black tip could run at the same max speed as the Go, but only for short bursts due to thermal throttling?
