*Floater*:The flap just gets in the way and makes things more difficult, but it's not as bad as the thing on my halcyon explorer 40 was which made screwing and unscrewing the corrugated hose for travel and cleaning a real task. I'm afraid to remove it though because if I (or my girlfriend) ever decides to sell the wing, then it's value may be decreased by such modifications, but you can just not put the corrugated hose through it and let it flap about...
edit: just to clarify, i was talking about the razor 30#, which has the same flap as the mach V (as far as I can tell from the pics), but the flap is mostly just an irritation.
Some people do not tie down their hoses. The flap is not there to make life difficult, it prevents the hose from going behind you head so you can reach it more easily.
If that was an issue, I could remove them from the wings entirely.
