NEW Oceanic HUD?

Difficult for me to decide which forum to place this in, but seeing as it was under COMPUTERS on the Oceanic website.....

Oceanic is coming out with a new HUD air integrated computer, built into a mask.

I'm thinkin', I gotta git me one of them .... I really like the idea of no console. Too bad they can't integrate a HUD compass on the other side of the mask.

Oceanic have talked about this for years—I’ll believe it when I see it. Cochran had a HUD mask in the works but that product died a quiet death.

I talked to a friend that works at a dive shop in another city. He deals with Oceanic and said he would call them on Monday to get more information. My buddy said that last fall, they did the product launch / briefing.

I did some research earlier this evening, and it would appear it is supposed to be released this fall. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be ready to market the mask / computer. They're already using it with the US Navy, so it is in production on a smaller scale. The technology was available in 2003, the did the product brief / launch in 2004, and hopefully putting the product into the market place for 2005.

No problem.... I realise that with any type of new technology or product, you often pay a premium for it.
