Dear all,
I took apart my straps and this was what I saw

It looks like some serious machinery is needed to bend those spring coils. They look really beefy. Any ideas how to cut and bend them?

I used a hacksaw although I'm sure bolt cutters would do the trick. For me a hacksaw was cheaper. Bending the coils was not so difficult, not easy but certainly doable. Like I said use two oasis of heavy duty pliers.

I just used a pair of dykes, although mine are Snap-on. Then just a pair of pliers to bend them...of course they are Snap-on too, but any old pair will work for bending.
