Welcome Ray! Congrats on jumping in! You'll love it. I would highly recommend Brittany or Sean at World of Scuba. Great instructors, couldn't be more friendly, and they know ALL the best spots, especially for a beginner. They have lots of classes and are a ScubaPro professional dealer, and they offer tons of classes for every level. Give them a call at 561-368-2155 or check em out on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/worldofscubadiving

Most of all, have fun and BE SAFE!!

Welcome to diving, and welcome to Scuba Board. enjoy the depths.

There are lots of good people and great instructors around. I got all my certs in S FL. Enough people have made suggestions, so I won't muddy the waters with more names. Welcome to the sport and see you out there!

Welcome Ray! Hope you are enjoying your open water class. I have taken several continuing certification classes at Gold Coast scuba and I can highly recommend their instructors. I also use Force E, especially since they are open late. The Goldcoastscuba meetup group is very active and you can join divers of all skill levels on beach and boat dives here in South Fl. Hope you make it to the Vandenberg in 2014! Happy Diving

I don't come around here often, but just found this.

Ray: Have you found a shop? I moved to LBTS a year ago and have found some great shops, and some not-so-great shops. If you'd like another opinion, please PM me as I am not going to add to the "popcorn chatter" here on dive shops. There are some good opinions above.

Good luck, and welcome to aqua-holics anonymous!

Ray, welcome to the addiction of the water world!
though we are a fair bit to your north, visit Vero Beach Scuba Club on Facebook and www.verobeachscubaclub.org
we have a variety of trips once you are certified and some great divers. the club is not associated with a shop or with an instructor so it is a no pressure group.

Don't forget to dive at Blue Heron Bridge in Palm Beach. it is well worth it and you can usually find several of our members there.

hmm wonder what happened to Diver_Ray. He was responding to posts, but has not posted here since Dec. 24th...

Welcome! You are welcome to join in on all of our events. You'll be able to meet a lot of local divers, and explore some cool dive sites with others that have been there. We also do several equipment, medical, environmental, and training seminars. Most of which are free. You can see, and register for, all our events here: Local Events - Force-E

Happy Diving!
