Springs are a key part of the Florida ecosystem. Healthy springs mean healthy rivers, manatees, waterfowl and other important things.

The fund that the plate pays into is primarily for education. I believe $24 or $25 a year per plate goes for these programs. Even if you don't dive springs, the plate is worth having and the fund is worth contributing to. Although non-Florida people can't get the plate, I would encourage anyone who loves diving and nature to contribute.

I have been seeing more and more of these around. It is good word is getting out about them. Unfortunately the prices have gone up. Even with the price increase it is good to see more than I saw a year ago!!!
