Me and my husband, ChrisPete, are divers new to the Keys area. We're SB regulars and love the camaraderie of the scuba community! :crafty:

We are good ol' Texas Swamp Divers living in the FL Keys at least for the next few months. We're loving it here and may become at least seasonal residents. We're volunteering at Bahia Honda State Park until the new year. :D

We're going to be checking out charters and shops in the Marathon and Big Pine Key area and also doing some shore diving here at the state park. We're going to check out the diving under the bridge (at slack tide) and also putter around the Loggerhead beach area. Any input or thoughts on diving at Bahia Honda or the area are appreciated!

Thanks!
Melissa

Welcome to paradise!
It is traditionally known that there is very limited to no shore diving in the keys. But, since you are willing to give it a try, let us know your findings!
Love your screen name! :)

I've heard there's some good snorkelling off Bahia Honda's "beach", so no reason it couldn't work for divers.

Anyway, enjoy your stay in the Keys! You might be interested in signing up for the Lionfish Derby in the middle Keys this weekend, or the last one in Key West next month.
