My girlfriend had the exact symptoms you are describing while doing her ow class, during the snorkle sessions. DAN told her to take Advil for the swelling and Sudafed for congestion. They decided it was a minor barotrauma. She took the meds for 48 hours and it worked. She felt quite a squeeze on her free dives.

Bottom line of course is to call DAN and see a doc if you can...

We have to be careful - since many things get better naturally, minor problems going away after medication does not really prove that it worked, or that it will work for a person with similar symptoms. After all, how many people out there are convinced that Airborne makes them feel better? Or HeadOn?

I cut my hand, and drank milk every morning. My hand healed, did the milk work?

My point is, a guy with too much ear wax is not going to fix the problem with pills, and most people take way too many pills as it is.
