if the cover was not watertight, I do not see where the problem would be. if it was, I would not dive with it

That's a good point. Since I don't have the cover I don't know if it had an o-ring or not but perhaps I can find the answer to that.
Hi this is a cover for the pressure sensor. It is not a watertight compartment, so technically you can dive with as is, however we recommend covering it. Caveat, this is not a part that is sold independently, however I checked with our service department and he has one he will just send to you as a service. If you PM me your address, we'll get it in the mail.
