I was just checking out the Fall 2007 schedule for the Nekton Pilot and Roqual and it looks like the Roqual is moving to the Bahamas late summer. I had read on another board that there were some issues with the Caymans not wanting the boat there anymore. Truth? Is it political or is it just that they aren't getting enough passengers? Temporary or permanent move?

I also heard rumors when we were on the Pilot last summer that the Nekton was looking at a whole new itenerary in S Caribbean, Virgin Islands I think, and they were already setting pins down. Is that going to happen? One of the old boats or adding a new?

Personally, I think the Nekton needs a boat in the Pacific.... we'd be all over that one! It would be so cool to be able to do Hawaii - Kona/Maui/Molikini/Lanai on one trip. Nekton Hawaii, what an awesome idea!! ~hint, hint~

Last fall?

The Rorqual is in the Caymans now thru mid-Aug 07 then back in the Caymans Sep 08'. So it seems like they're there at least for a season over the next two years. Maybe it's not as profitable as they thought it would be.

PM Pam in Paradise here, she works for them.
Kona/Maui/Molikini/Lanai on one trip
Change Kona for Molokai(occasionally) and you can do all that from Maui on daytrips. And other activities/restaurants besides.

Edit: In retrospect, it might be better than dealing with all the traffic and other tourists...

We're booked for the Caymans in May on the Rorqual and haven't heard anything from Nekton that would indicate any changes. As for the overall Caymans program with Nekton ...I can't say.

When in May are you going? I am also going to be on the Rorqual in May, maybe we'll see each other.
