@SecT Slightly heavy at 2.6kg/5.7lbs size xl but they do look nice, same weight as the Deep 6 but ready available in Spain.

@Kharkon @muzikbiz22 The Aeris/oceanic accel is something I am considering, light weight, can wear boots and I can ad a bungee strap if I want to ( the Seawing one seems to fit well)...how do the behave under strong current?

@JohnN Same question, have you tried them under strong current? Some people complain about low thrust power...

Any one has used the Seawing Nova Gorilla?

la?

No problems with current. I actually use these fins "year 'round" . Just spent a week with them in Grand Cayman. And here at home in southern California, I use them all the time. I dive Open Circuit, as well as Rebreather. They're great, light, easy off/on, cheap, replaceable straps, rugged, thrusty when needed, etc.

I can't really say. Certainly less power than my cold water fins ( F1's). I suck too much gas when I swim against the current, so I don't

I have to say I am quite sold on the Accels, they get pretty good reviews everywhere.

What about sizing? No stores sell them near where I live, so I will have to order online.

Problem is both my girlfriend and I wear sizes that fit in between the chart

She is a 39-40 Euro and I am a 46 euro ( sorry but different sizing for men and women in USA may bring confusion), we plan to wear them with 2mm booties when traveling to warm waters but may use them back here with 5mm ones. Should we get an S and XL or XS and L...

No shuch thing as free return in Spain :)

Just gone through the same thing myself. Hollis F2 because they are easily available for me and a dive buddy from when I lived in the UAE got a set and was satisfied with them. Hollis are pretty well represented around the world, which I think should always be part of kit purchasing decisions - always good to be able to fix any issues that can come up when in the road.

I have used Hollis F2 as travel fins, and I agree with those who complain of low thrust. There is no avoiding the laws of physics (or is that fluid dynamics?). The blade area is small. Also, the foot pocket has a square cross sectional shape, much like a Jet fin, which is fine for drysuit boots but does not conform well to my foot shape in thin wetsuit boots.

I am planning on trying the Deep6 fins. If I am not mistaken, they are lighter than OMS Slipstreams but similar in form.

The Deep 6 are only slightly lighter than a jetfin, little over 1lb. The Apeks rk3 are similar but they are shorter than the Acell so they may share the thrust problem with the F2s.

I think I will go with the Accel

The manufacturer says more like 2 lbs.: Deep Six Outfitters Eddy Fin

Or do you mean 1 lb. per fin? If the concern is travel weight, that is 2 lbs. less in your baggage.

Oms slipstreams, quattros or Apeks, whichever is easiest to get hold of
