The wifes Mares M1 quit on her on one dive while we were in Australia back in November so we are looking to replace it. She has decided that she wants a wrist computer that is smaller and closer to the size of a wrist watch. We have been looking at a few Suunto computers, the Mosquito, The Stinger, and the D6. I like he price of he Mosquito but she like the look and feel of the Stinger and D6. We also looked at the Oceanic Geo and may check out the Mares Nemo. She really like some of the features of the D6, like the compass, but i think its too much to spend on something that amounts to just gadgets. I found the Stinger in stainless steel for just under $500 so its pretty attractive to me and she like the fact that it doesn't look like a cheap Timex watch like the Mosquito. What do others think though?

The new Mares Nemo Wide is a very impressive computer - large display screen, easy to read, nitrox compatable. I tried one on my last trip to Roatan and was very pleased with its ease of use. Just my two cents...Cheers!

Does she need something glove friendly for local diving or is she only a warm water diver?

Pete

she is pretty much a warm water diver. If it isn't in the mid to upper 70's she won't even consider getting in.

I've been a Stinger guy since it came out...love it...

I've got the Mosquito myself. It's a great little computer, but the Stinger is wayyy prettier ;)
