We're talking about the Mares Nemo Wide, it has deep stops, nothing like Scubapro PDIS
Isn’t PDIS a convoluted version of an „optional recreational deep stop“?
(A trajectory of stops instead of one)
I thought so but I could be wrong, moving on not to diverge from topic 😅

FWIW the SW Perdix AI also turns on automatically. I suspect it's a standard feature on SW computers. They have the sensors, why not do it?

We always have a standard SPG as a backup to the AI. Mechanical depth gauge too.
My 26 year old Suunto Cobra 1 turns on automatically, this isn't a new thing.

We have quite a few Mares, Shearwater, and even Crest Diving CR5 computers at the club. We do dives with those models and there are no significant differences in the dive data.
I'm talking about comparisons between the Perdix and Petrel versus the Mares Puck 4, Quad CI, Quad 2.

I'd like to know if those who throw so much hate at Mares actually own these models and regularly dive with both computers.
I understand that, for some, only "Shearwater" is considered valid, but as a skeptic myself, I must say there are no significant differences at normal use.

Do you think the Mares display is comparable? Or that its proprietary algorithm is preferable?

Can Mares equal or exceed Shearwater customer service?

Shearwater offered to FedEx a loaner computer to me free of charge while they repaired my Perdix. That’s worth a $300-500 difference in price to me.

I don’t hate Mares at all. I just don’t have any reason to pivot from Shearwater.

It's not really comparable, but neither is the price... A Shearwater costs roughly more than double the price of any Mares.
I'm just saying that I dive daily, testing different products, and objectively speaking, there are no differences in the data provided by both manufacturers.
I'm speaking from my own experience testing different models.
I'm not here to prove I'm right or wrong; I just don't like it when people throw hate, and many (not saying you) have never even had the chance to test Mares and Shearwater simultaneously.
