Hey all! It has been a while since I posted last. Used to be a Texas Swamp Diver but made the move up to Chicago and now I guess I am part of the Great Lakes Wrecking Crew!!

Anyway, I have a couple of swamp divers coming up the Chi-town at the end of june for some standard partying but want to get a dive in on Thursday, the 28th. I haven't dove here yet so who should I contact for getting a charter? Looking to do a 2-tank dive and REALLY looking forward to feeling the 40 deg water:) Also, if anyone is available to dive that day and is looking for a buddy, drop me a line and we can coordinate. There will be 3 of us diving and of the 3, 1 is a DM and the other 2 are Rescue.

Tiny Bubbles:)

Doing a thursday day dive may limit options, as I believe most captians have day-jobs.. :)....

Outfits I'd recommend....
Chicago Dive Charters (Downtown Burnham Harbor) - do 2 on the 'Straits of Mackinac' - big dive boat - 12 divers I think, may be tough w/ small crowd.
Nordic Diver (Milwaukee) - CF Milwaukee & the Willy
N'pursuit (Northern Indiana) - May hafta go out furthur for decent depth/visability/wreck (close in stuff is mostly debris fields - uck)

Here's a couple more:

Len-Der Milwaukee
Enterprise Marine Des Plains

I personally like the diving out of Milwaukee better. I think you will have a better dive if you take a charter out of Milwaukee. The Willy is always a great dive. She sits on the bottom at about 90'

Sorry I don't have recommendations on a charter. I fortunately have a friend who is my dive buddy who owns a boat. We always see the Len Der when we're out diving off Milwaukee. The captain always seems nice when we encounter them.

Harvdog,

I've been looking at local charters recently as well. FYI Nordic Diver (charter out of Milwaukee) has a website with schedule posted http://www.nordicdiver.com/ It lists a dive open on the 28th on the Staemer Wisconsin.

I'd second that recomendation. A truely top notch operation.
