On any wing or are you specifically talking about the apeks harness?

He’s probably referring to any harness. I’d agree with him. Can get very bulky.

The Apeks system has no colour options and seems more bulky tech orientated especially with the wtx harness but would have comme with the extra padding and D rings.

I would stay away from this and go with a continuous harness.

I’v seen some simple padding available that goes over a bp.
Would that add much comfort compared to just the bp directly on ones back?

Nope as you long as you have something even a t shirt you won't even notice.

Now I know some have a thin material with a pouch to store a bag etc, that adds no bulk and can be useful.

One piece continuous wedding vs one with buckles is personal preference.
