Now the weather is getting colder I´m looking for the best undersuit ;)

I dive in a CNX2-Ri drysuit and I have planned to dive the whole winter in water temperatures around 0-3 celcius, both ice-dives and perhaps some deep wreck dives.

I have been looking for these new Flectalon suits from Northern Diver, they should be very warm, but my problem is, should I choose 100,200 or 300 in thickness  and anyone know where I could get one at a good(cheap) price?

Michael

I recommend Soft Wear for their one piece fleece suit. It's really nice, warm and light. Comes with booties, small pockets inside for your key or whatnot, a reinforced area for a pee-valve if your in need and they are reasonable.

I got the 200 weight for the local diving and California stuff. Works fine. Never been below 52° in it though, but at those temps it was fine (for me)

check it out!

...I have a 300 wt suit from them. Janice, the gal who runs the company is just great to work with, and custom makes each suit. I called her with an order, sent a paypal payment from her website and she told me she was a "little backed up..." but I had my suit in about 4 days anyway. Fits great, and is warm and soft. You get a pair of booties with the suit for the price and I have worn mine in temps around +3C and been plenty warm (in those temps, I wear long underwear under the suit and extra socks. Additionally, I'll bet the softwear suit is cheaper than what you are looking at....

I ordered my after a ton of great reviews and recommendations here. Janice was fast, very helpful and make a super undergarment. I ordered the 300wt for N CA diving and it arrived two days after I ordered it. I never knew custom could feel so good! The booties round out the suit nicely. You will not be disappointed.:D

I just ordered a custom 300wt suit from Janice (http://home.att.net/~gchev91/index.htm). She made the suit and had it shipped the next day. She is quite a seamstress- I would definitely recommend her.

I like my Weezle, warm and nice wicking effect so even if the suit gets soaked it keeps the water away from your skin so you dont notice it.

While Janice is fantastic, and I have two of her undersuits, I don't think the 300 Software will be warm enough for the cold dives. You'll want a Thinsulate or Weezle extreme+. The Weezle is a bit loftier than the newsest generation of thinsulate, causing one to add a bit more gas to the suit but they are warm.
I have the 100 & 200 Software suits, but for 40 degree and under water I'm going with Thinsulate or weezle. Fleece isn't enough.

Thank you very much Bob3!

A little question more is, what about the thickness?, is there much difference between the Flectalon 200 and the 300?

And do you know where I could get one cheap?

:)
