You got that right. It would be more like a car payment thought, as I would be paying for years...

Due to weather we did end up at Crystal river. If the wind there was any indication of what was happening on the Gulf, I'm glad I chose Crystal river.

I found a public boat launch next door to a dive shop and free parking. Almost went and played the lotto after that one. went over to Kings Spring and did a dive with Louis first to check things out. explored the cavern and checked out the spring. The place looks allot different then it did back in the early eighties when I did my OW check out dives there.

For the 2nd dive we brought my wife and my other son down with us. Everybody had a great time. No manatees today :(.

After that dive we went over to the "3 sisters" site and snorkel'd for a bit before calling it a day.

That wind was something today. Certainly not a nice day for boating out there. Did K have fun?

Kathy had a good time, she was less than thrilled with Kings spring, as was I. I remember it being a pristine spring with water like Ginnie springs. It looks ok as springs go, but compared to what I remember, it really went to $**t.

At last you guys got to dive. Hope everyone had a good time.

From what the local dive shop told me, it's a nitrate problem, and a septic problem. Apparently not everybody went to the town sewer system, so allot of older residential septic systems are leaking into the river.

Oh, well. What can you do.

Tomorrow, off to Ginnie Springs to show Kathy some real "Crystal Springs"

i did my checkout dives at kings spring, it was crap i never saw a cave system?probobly because i couldnt see it were going up there for new years for 3 says..Glad you still have fun..

Wow what terrible spelling by me.( I guess my language arts teacher isnt doing his job).Anyways, were going up there for 3 days on new years...Probobly never saw the cave system because it was too murky at kings spring..We did some skills there and the new divemaster that was with the instructor knocked my mask off, great first impression on diving huh..Glad you still had fun..
